At Belmont, we practice baby dedication, rather than baptism, because the baptism of infants is not done in the Bible. Baptism is done after salvation as an outward demonstration of what has happened inwardly at salvation.
Baby dedication is really parent dedication! Parents have been blessed by God, as "Children are a gift from the Lord." By dedicating their children, parents are publicly stating that they want to raise their children to follow after God. Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
